Police revive toddler – Provide First Aid or CPR when its needed

A TODDLER who was choking on her tongue was probably saved by officers who performed first aid on her, police say.

The two-year-old girl was being bathed at her home in Lane Cove, on Sydney’s lower north shore, when she apparently slipped and hit her head about 7pm last night.

Two female police officers – attached to North Shore Local Area Command – were first on the scene and performed first aid on the child who had lost consciousness after choking on her tongue.

The child regained consciousness and paramedics later took over.

Once paramedics arrived they took over and transported the child to Royal North Shore Hospital where she is recovering.

Senior police will recommend formal recognition of the senior constable and probationary constable for their actions.
